I have always had a fascination and appreciation for hands. Hands give me the ability to create whatever I desire in this world, they allow me to make the ideas in my head come to life. I had made a project that had stiff unmoving finger extensions and wanted to see if I could take it to the next level by engineering finger extensions that could actually move. After extension research, I was able to construct something that allowed me to have a fully articulated prop. I then used it into an original costume design.

An originally designed and hand-sewn costume provides context for an elongated hand. This costume is inspired by an inky cap mushroom, which opens and folds on itself in a similar motion as the hand opening and closing.
