As I observe fast fashion and the cultural mindset of wearing something once, I decided to push this into a satirical commentary.
What if you could only wear something once?
With this work I explore the combination of the wedding dress, a garment known for only being worn once, and a fragile but sustainable material, paper. The dresses are fully recyclable as they are held together by water based glue and tied on the body with paper ribbon.
Each dress was constructed using only paper products, water based glue, and a few staples.
Love is so beautiful and can make us feel so special, yet it can be volatile and fragile. Love is not indestructible. It must be nurtured and maintained. Relationships, like paper dresses, take work, care, and dedication to maintain… or else can fall apart in a blink of an eye.
