With the rise of Covid, there was an influx of synthetic fabric to make medical masks. There is so much waste that won't decompose. I wanted to see if I could come up with a solution. I combined the rising trend of using reusable bags to these non-reusable items to give them new life.
Bag 1: Reversible Tote

Bag 2: Zipper Tote
30 masks per tote | sewn together in a patchwork pattern | double layered | zipper added for extra security
Bag 3: Reversible Tote

Bag 4: Zipper Tote

Bag 5: Backpack

All donated masks go through a rigorous disinfection process. Masks are isolated for 2-4 weeks, sanitized and put aside again. Processing the masks are done in batches that take 4 hours to turn the masks into usable material. Each handcrafted, uniquely designed bag takes between 8-12 hours to make.
